Sweet, dreamy, meandering and somewhat weak on plot, The Long Earth has received mixed reviews since its release in June of this year. I personally enjoyed it, but prefered the concept and whistful tone of the book to the actual story. 

Following on from Snuff, I Shall Wear Midnight and Unseen Academicals, The Long Earth is the fourth Pratchett book in as many years to be released in special, limited edition slip-case. 

As with the latter two books, The Long Earth slipcase is exclusive to Waterstones, comes numbered and officially stamed and has a fairly hefty price tag of £35.00. Also like the other books it is utterly gorgeous. The cover art is visually stunning and the book is thankfully void of large titles and quotes from critics.

Something slightly dissapointing is the lack of signatures. Of course Sir Terry is probably not up to signing 1500 books, and it wasn't expected, but surely Baxter could have been called in to scribble his name?

Still, The Long Earth limted slipcase edition will make a beautiful addition to anyone's bookcase.
