CLiNT is the new comic book magazine edited by Mark Millar - the writer of Marvel Civil War. With content from Jonathan Ross and Huw Edwards (yes, the Welsh news reader...), and with a front cover with the slogan “Kick Ass 2 Starts Here”, it would seem that this is the perfect magazine, right?

OK, try this:

CLiNT is the new Lads Mag edited by Mark Millar - the writer of Wanted. With content from Jimmy Carr and Frankie Boyle (yes, the foul mouthed Scottish prick...), and with a front cover with the slogans “Chinese Tom Cruise” and “Hot TV Mums”, it would seem that this is the worlds worst magazine, right?

Well, both statements pretty much sum up “CLiNT”, in fact it is the two statements together that sum it up.

At high points, such as the aforementioned Kick Ass 2 exclusive, it is a great magazine, and exactly the sort of magazine us twenty-somethings have been waiting for, with exciting comic strips and some decent interviews.

At its lowest, it operates at about the same level as Nuts or Zoo, with shining articles such as “Herb du Jour – The Secret Diary of a Celebrity Pot Head” and thought provoking interview questions such as “Would You Fuck Your Dad to Save Your Mum?”... Kill me now. It is puerile and it is irritating.

The other down side to the mag is the price. £3.99 doesn't sound much, and it isn't really, but at about the same length as The Dandy and with the same paper quality as Hello, it is a little steep.

Will I be getting the next issue? I really don't know. I'm proper torn! On the one hand I want to read the next instalments of Kick Ass, Nemesis and the surprisingly good 1920's prohibition/gangster/vampire comic Turf penned by Jonathan Ross. On the other, I try my hardest to avoid the moron humour that litters a large amount of this mag most of the time, so it is annoying to help fund it.

We'll just have to wait and see...

P.S. Is the name CliNT meant to be the C-bomb?
